With the window for nominations for this year’s Hartlepool Business Awards now open, Plastic Processing has been named as the showpiece event’s new platinum sponsor.

This significant sponsorship highlights how the group – parent company for a few businesses focused on providing innovative plastic solutions while minimising environmental impact – wants to work with the local business community to support growth and success within Hartlepool and the surrounding area.

The awards, scheduled for Thursday, October 16 at the prestigious Hardwick Hall in Sedgefield, are set to be a major celebration of Hartlepool’s business sector and organised by Hartlepool Business Forum. With an expected sell-out attendance of more than 300 guests, the event provides exceptional networking opportunities and a chance to honour the remarkable achievements of local enterprises.

Patrick Connolly, managing director of Plastic Processing, said: “We are long-standing members of the North-East business community, not only through our recently rebranded group, Plastic Processing Limited, which includes the Plastic Furniture Company, and also our charity The PFC Trust. “We are deeply committed to the town’s prosperity and we are incredibly excited to be the main, platinum, sponsor of the Hartlepool Business Awards 2025. It’s a wonderful opportunity to actively participate in a night that recognises and celebrates the hard work and innovation of our fellow businesses, while also further contributing to Hartlepool’s continued growth.”

The Hartlepool Business Awards 2025, organised by the Hartlepool Business Forum, will showcase a wide range of categories, including Best Small Business, Best Large Business, Best Professional Services Business, Best Manufacturing or Engineering Business, Best New Business, Best Creative Business, Best Digital Business, Community Business of the Year, Best Leisure or Hospitality Business, Young Entrepreneur Award, Best Retail or Service Sector Business and The Peter Olsen Award.

Nominations for these prestigious awards will open on April 1. Businesses are encouraged to prepare their applications and highlight their outstanding achievements. Tickets for the event will be available for purchase online from May 1.

Simon Corbett, chair of the Hartlepool Business Forum and CEO of Orangebox Training Solutions, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Plastic Processing as our platinum sponsor and we are all looking forward to hearing the inspirational stories that the night brings. We are still seeking additional sponsors to ensure the 2025 awards are a resounding success. While some categories have been filled, there are limited opportunities remaining. We still have silver packages available as well as opportunities for reception drinks and other individual award sponsorships. We urge businesses to act promptly to secure their involvement. These sponsorship packages provide a unique chance to engage with the local business community and gain valuable exposure. We aim to celebrate the exceptional work being done in Hartlepool and build on the incredible occasion that last year’s Hartlepool Business Awards was.”
