The Community Business Fund from independent trust, Power to Change, will reopen on Tuesday, 11 September, offering grants between £50,000 and £300,000 to community businesses in England trading for the benefit of and accountable to their local communities. Community businesses will have until midday on Tuesday 9 October to apply.
The announcement comes in the wake of the Government’s new Civil Society Strategy launch, aimed at supporting the growth of local communities’ financial and social capital. A total of £2.5m is available in support of community businesses through the fund and grant awards will be made to the successful organisations at the start of 2019.
This is the sixth round of the Community Business Fund, which has to date supported over 90 organisations in England to become more financially sustainable. From farms to libraries, canal moorings to cinemas, the Community Business Fund supports a wide range of community businesses, which all operate in a way that delivers positive social impact.
A free webinar on the 13th September 2018 will take people through the criteria, application process and what other rounds have funded.
